Al-Nassr announced this Friday (3) the hiring of Ange Postecoglou as the team's new coach. The Australian coach signed a two-year contract with the current champion of the Saudi League and will have the mission of commanding the team led by Cristiano Ronaldo.
At 60 years old, Postecoglou is trying to get back on track after two troubled spells in the Premier League. At Tottenham, he won the Europa League title in 2025, but was fired two weeks later, due to the campaign that ended with the club in 17th place in the English Championship.
He then took over Nottingham Forest, but only spent 39 days in the role. The team did not win any of the eight matches under his command, accumulating six defeats, which resulted in his dismissal.
Before agreeing with Al-Nassr, the coach was speculated on in the Scottish and Kazakhstan teams. According to the international press, negotiations with the Kazakhs did not progress due to the coach's salary demands.
Known for winning titles in his second season at the clubs he manages, Postecoglou was two-time Scottish Championship champion with Celtic and also lifted national trophies in charge of Brisbane Roar, in Australia, and Yokohama F. Marinos, in Japan.
